The day starts at the Cenotes Casa Tortuga reception, at the entrance to Tulum. After check-in and a safety briefing, you hop on your shared ATV and hit the dirt trails that cut through the Mayan jungle — dust, thick vegetation and that engine roar that means adventure is on.
The off road route takes you to the special cenote exclusive to this package: a cenote only ATV groups can access, away from the crowds of the regular circuit. After that first swim, you continue with the guided tour of the park's 5 cenotes — open, cavern-style and underground-river-style — with snorkel gear and life jacket included at every stop.
Between cenotes you walk jungle trails while your guide explains the peninsula's geology: why Yucatán has no surface rivers, how cenotes formed millions of years ago, and what they meant to the Maya.
Practical tips: wear your swimsuit from the hotel, use biodegradable sunscreen (regular sunscreen is not allowed in cenotes), and don't forget water shoes — stairs and trails can get slippery. The extra cash is for tips, photos or a bite at the restaurant.
